The Elastoloads Tool

Elastomers demonstrate highly non-linear material behavior in the elastic range. This is why normally the TransMAX module is used for investigations concerning elastomers.

However, long load histories here lead to very long calculation times and large amounts of data.

In order to nonetheless be able to perform multiaxial analysis of elastomeric components with FEMFAT as well as to easily process long load curves, the Elastoloads Tool has been developed. The multiaxial loads are transformed in such a way that makes it possible to process them using ChannelMAX.

And, as the name suggests, the loads in the space in which the body can be elastically deformed, are analyzed and discretized. Depending on the magnitude of the deformation, these can be, for example, four control points in the horizontal, eight in the vertical and eight in the depth (see the figure 1).

From this 4 * 8 * 8 = 256 states are derived and prepared for an ABAQUS solver deck. Subsequently, new load curves are generated by locally interpolating the intermediate states. Any possible base states which exist but remain unused are eliminated from the channels and the calculation time is thereby reduced significantly.

This tool allows efficient fatigue life analysis of elastomeric components with their typically large and non-linear elastic deformations.

And here is the best news saved for last: The Elastoloads license is available for all users with a valid MAX maintenance agreement free of Charge.
